I’ve found a random twitter application in my facebook profile, which may have been making those random tinyurl posts.
Lets see if that helps!
Its been a while since I’ve posted some random links.
Proof that Americans are crazy, in sad way. Walmart person ge crushed to death in a sale.
Recently Windows Media Centre has become my personal favourite gadget. This site suggests a number of plug ins ways to add to it, TV Tonic being quite interesting from the looks of it..
While for the true geek - seems Buffy maybe making a movie return…
I’ve just got back from setting up a BT Homehub at my parents place, and I have to say the wireless part of it was a nightmare it seemed to take an age for one of the computers to connect to it. I have no idea why…but it was just a nightmare…
RIP Doctor 10?
Well he’s leaving. Theres not much to say about that. Maybe the right time for someone new? But he will be very missed. He has been fantastic.
To quote David when he made his announcement to the National Television Awards. :
“Now don’t make me cry,” he added. “I love this part, and I love this show so much that if I don’t take a deep breath and move on now I never will, and you’ll be wheeling me out of the Tardis in my bath chair.”
‘I’ll miss it’
You can watch the announcement here, and can read more / watch an interview here.
UPDATE:
An extended version of the interview is available on youtube
Spooks Season 7. Episode 1, was a little silly - lets face it. The plot about Remembrance Sunday being cancelled was saved by the fact it wasn’t the main threat, plus the fact it was all one lead up for the big finish…
RIP Adam Carter
Spooks returns Monday, October 27 at 9pm on BBC One.
Well I finally got to pluggin our baby into the TV set, the resulting ‘messing’ meant that I came across Windows Media Centre. I have to admit I am impressed, I am liking the idea of having all the media bits and pieces in one place, the remote control is a nice addition.
To top it off, the plugs ins that are available add to the fun. The most useful being TunerfreeMCE which is a plug in for TV VOD services such as IPlayer, and 4oD.
Well I’ve finally done and got round to one of those Doctor Who story’s that fans go on and on about. Now I can see why. When you put into perspective the classic series isn’t particulary known for being particulary dark and grown up, this story is quite refreshing. The Story is 7 episodes long, but does not seem to have the same padding of other longer
stories.
The story evolves around the plans to drill into the crust of the earth, and the exiled Doctor’s attempts to repair the TARDIS. As one of his experiments to fix the TARDIS goes really badly, the Doctor is shifted into a Parallel universe. Here he is powerless to prevent the drilling from completing, which brings about the end of the world as the earths crust starts to split.
This leads onto some of the most fast paced episodes that the classic series ever saw, with maybe one of the most dramatic scenes in the “death” of one of the regular characters. Special mention needs to be paid to the Episode 6 climax - the Earth erupts!
Due to tight plotting, and dark over tones may be worth checking out if you’ve not seen any of the older doctor who’s before.
